Ray Findley SWC
Hello! My name is Ray (she/they) and I am a white, queer, able-bodied, spiritual therapist, hypnotherapist, and group facilitator with a background in anthropology and a masters in social work. I’ve had training in heart centered hypnotherapy, intentional peer support, alternatives to suicide, and way of council. I’m passionate about working with people in a heart-centered and humble way that is anti-racist and identity affirming. I consistently work to be able to do this with greater depth and integrity. I believe we can develop space to hold the many challenges of being human together with accountability and deep self-love. It is my passion to help people go deeper into their relationship with themselves and others in order to find an increasingly honest, compassionate, and fulfilling way to live life that is their own, honoring every part of themselves.
I’m particularly passionate about hypnotherapy because I find it to be a way of delving into our truest knowing about ourselves, while holding ourselves in a loving container. My philosophy is that the more we can grow the ability to hold ourselves in love and compassion, the more we can grow into our most beautifully authentic expression of ourselves. While holding ourselves with compassion, we are able to look at our experiences and ourselves in an expansive way. This can open our world to more possibilities and allow us to see ourselves as we truly are. The challenges and difficulties we have faced may reveal hidden powers and abilities laying dormant within us that we have yet to fully harness. In this process, we have an opportunity to own what is ours—the identities, histories, abilities, and strengths— that make us who we are. My approach is inspired by heart-centered hypnotherapy, a person-centered, humanistic approach, strengths-based approaches, empowerment approaches, somatics, mindfulness, nervous system regulation, attachment theory, and grounded spiritual inquiry. I’d be honored to meet you where you are now and walk your path with you a bit, towards where you are meant to be.
